Zero-waste doesn’t have to feel minimal, restrictive or serious. BeeVrac is a local grocery store built around a more joyful idea of responsible consumption—good products, less packaging, and plenty of personality.

We translated that spirit into a digital experience designed to move, surprise and engage.

Beyond the ordinary Store

The challenge

BeeVrac brings together a broad selection of local, organic and zero-waste products under one roof. The challenge was to communicate that diversity without turning the website into a conventional grocery catalogue.

The experience needed to explain the concept, showcase the products and highlight the people behind them, while capturing the spontaneous, welcoming energy of the physical store.

Our approach

We approached the website as a living extension of the store.

Bold typography, hand-drawn illustrations, textured backgrounds and an intentionally imperfect graphic language create an identity that feels tactile and human.

But the real personality comes through movement. Instead of simply scrolling through static sections, users discover a composition that continuously transforms around them.

Nuggets That spark Emotion

Designed to Move it, move it...

Scroll becomes part of the storytelling.

Oversized typography shifts across the screen, images move and overlap, graphic lines guide the eye from one section to another, while products and messages progressively enter the composition.

Animation isn’t added as decoration—it establishes rhythm, creates transitions and turns browsing into a more immersive experience.

A Digital Taste of the Store

Photography and product imagery are treated almost like physical objects, appearing throughout the interface alongside illustrations, handwritten details and bold typographic statements.

This layered approach captures some of the abundance and spontaneity of browsing jars, ingredients and discoveries in the actual store—bringing a tactile feeling into a digital environment.

Visual abundance with functional Clarity

Organising Abundance

Behind the expressive art direction, the product architecture remains deliberately simple.

A clear distinction between food and non-food products is reinforced by illustrations (from our dear Enzo Landolt), making a large and diverse catalogue easy to explore. Individual product pages then bring photography, producer information, origin and certification together in one clear hierarchy.

Local by Design

BeeVrac is deeply connected to its local ecosystem, so products are never presented in isolation.

Producers, origins, certifications and responsible choices are integrated directly into the experience, giving context to what users discover and reinforcing the relationship between the store, its partners and its community. We link each product to a producer, for full transparency.

Raw, generous and slightly Imperfect

A Playful Visual System

Heavy display typography is contrasted with handwritten accents, warm orange tones, custom illustrations and subtle paper textures.

The system deliberately avoids the polished codes often associated with sustainable brands. Instead, it feels raw, generous and slightly imperfect—closer to the personality of an independent neighbourhood store.

The Outcome

BeeVrac becomes more than a website for discovering products. It becomes an expression of the store itself: energetic, local, responsible and full of character.

Motion creates curiosity.
Design creates personality.
Structure keeps everything effortless.

A zero-waste experience with nothing stripped away.
